Dr Benjamin Ajibade is an Assistant Professor in Mental Health Nursing at Northumbria University, with nearly four decades of experience spanning clinical psychiatric nursing and higher education across Nigeria, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

He is a pioneer of LEGO® Serious Play as a methodology in nursing education — the subject of his doctorate — and a leading voice in decolonising higher education and advancing equity for racially minoritised students, staff, and communities. His work pairs rigorous research with practical change inside institutions.

As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Honorary Professor at SEETA University, Uganda, he has supervised more than 250 students from undergraduate to doctoral level, secured and contributed to over £2.7 million in research funding, and published more than 40 peer-reviewed works. Through ELEVATE, he is committed to building strength, agency, and belonging for the next generation of diverse scholars.
